MCHH 7TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE - HEALTH: THE GREATEST WEALTH

About our Conference

The Milwaukee Consortium for Hmong Health  (MCHH) hosted our 7th Annual Health Conference on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Bergstrom Hall, Mount Mary University.

MCHH's focus is on improving the health of our clients by promoting health education and screenings. Our annual health conference allowed our clients to learn from health experts, receive health screenings and speak with people from organizations who can help connect them to social services.

Last year we hosted 140 participants and 108 sponsors/vendors/volunteers/interpreters/staff. We added a Hispanic CHW in December 2024, and we estimate an additional 50 people at this year's event. We anticipate 25 vendors who will represent social services, community groups and corporate sponsors.

We provided the following health screenings or services for our participants:

  • Blood pressure/blood glucose by APAMSA (Asian Pacific Medical Student's Association)
  • Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) screening by Health Connections
  • Vision screening (MCHH Volunteers)
  • Hearing screening (MCW Sound Lab)
  • Clinical Breast Exams (Nurses Affecting Change)
  • Medication Consultation with Pharm D students—MCW Pharmacology School
  • Blood pressure and Diabetes education--Mount Mary Student Nurses
  • Vaccinations (Flu/Covid/HPV/Hep B)—Hayat Pharmacy
  • Children's programming (approximately 20 children)
